World Down Syndrome WEEK

So did you know that Monday was World Down Syndrome Day? Well it was, but I'm going to go ahead and declare it World Down Syndrome Week, because this is my blog, and aside from threatening the POTUS, or making bomb threats I can say pretty much anything I want on here!!

Let's get to the point shall we. This is Bennett

Bennett lives in an orphanage in Eastern Europe, and although I can't make definitive statements about the conditions he is in, it is likely that he spends his days in a crib, lined next to a few dozen other cribs. He is probably extremely malnourished and has very minimal contact (let alone loving interaction) with an adult. What's worse is that Bennett is four years old, which means that his move from the baby orphanage to an institution is imminent. These institutions are nightmarish. Children are tied to beds, ignored, mistreated, and basically left to die... BUT there are people out there that want these children!! They want to take Bennett HOME to be in their family!! But adoption is pricey, and this is where the charitable organization Reece's Rainbow, and my advocate friend Krista over at One Beautiful Life come in!! Reece's Rainbow offers grant money for these precious children so it will be more affordable for loving families to adopt them. On behalf of little Bennett, Krista has worked her butt off trying to raise both awareness and funds, and I want to help in any way I can.
