Greetings from my hometown of Beaverton, Oregon!! Apparently it's "soooooo cold (zero!!!)" here (insert giant eyeroll). I just smile and say "oh yes, brrrrrr" and then strip off another layer.
I really can't believe it's been nine months since we left here and this is our first trip back. I think being gone so long has been good for me though, this place doesn't feel like 'home' anymore. I'm trying to soak up my family and friends and all the beautiful things that I love about this place, but (aside from the drive home) I'm actually not dreading leaving like I thought I would. God has provided abundantly for me this year with wonderful friendships in my tiny town and I really miss them!
I haven't forgotten that I promised a more detailed post about our year of "cutting out the excess" and you will get one, but there are way too many excesses to address, and I need to set some reasonable goals and then somehow coherently get it all down on paper. So until that happens, I will leave you w/ a few images from our Christmas in Summerland and our time here in Oregon.

I keep meaning to call that number Shawn posted, but I am horrible at phones, so this is me saying COME BACK THIS WAY and stay with us if it works, otherwise we'll drive to say hi to you on the way, or whatever!!
