I love LOVE

Well, more specifically, I love catching glimpses of affection from unsuspecting lovebirds. Not the obnoxious pda shows, put on to prove something, that kind of thing makes my already cynical heart grow a little colder. No, I like it when they think no one is looking. I've caught two couples recently. The first was a middle aged couple raking leaves in their front yard together. That alone made me smile, but it got better! The woman teasingly threw a handful of leaves at her partner before he wrapped his arms around her waste and hoisted her up causing her to shriek and laugh. The second was a young couple that I somewhat know. I sat a few rows behind them in church and I watched as they whispered to each other for a moment and when he looked away, she stared at him for just a few moments w/ the most contented, smitten look on her face. I wish I knew what she was thinking in that moment. I somewhat satisfied my curiosity by imagining that she was admiring how he was happily wearing their infant daughter in a sling, thanking God that He had provided her with her perfect match. Or maybe he just had some leftover breakfast stuck in his teeth. Either way, it was a moment too good for someone not to see.
